Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata. KKR started their inning with their opener Chris Lynn and Robin Uthappa but Uthappa got out cheaply by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Only Chris Lynn batted patiently and scored significant 49 runs against strong bowling unit of Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH bowling has been exceptional as all their bowlers were up to the mark. KKR captain Dinesh Karthik scored 29 valuable runs in the end as KKR posted 138 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

SRH lost their in form batsman Shikhar Dhawan early but it was Wriddhiman Saha(24) and Kane Williamson(50) who build some partnership. After the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha, Kane Williamson played captain knock and ensured SRH not to lose from there. In the end Yusuf Pathan hit the winning six and they won the match by 5 wickets with 6 balls remaining.
