With over 200 international games to her name, Bismah Maroof is one of the most experienced cricketers in Pakistan Women's current setup. The allrounder was only 15 when she made her ODI debut against India in December 2006, posting 43 in the game. Her T20I debut came three years later in May 2009 against Ireland. Maroof struck an impressive 50 not out on her ICC World Twenty20 debut in 2009, continuing her form into the 2014 edition with an unbeaten knock of 62 against Sri Lanka. In the 2018 edition hosted by West Indies, she played yet another handy knock of 53 against India. Recently named as captain of Pakistan for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020, Maroof is currently the leading run scorer for her side in WT20I cricket. Her exploits as a leg-spinner have come in handy on many occasions too, such as her best bowling figures of 4 for 7 against Ireland in 2011.
Maroof is a two-time gold medalist at the Asian Games, achieving the feat in 2010 and 2014.
