MI won the toss and started the inning with the early loss of Evin Lewis, but Suryakumar Yadav(72 runs of 47 balls) and wicket keeper batsman Ishan Kishan(58 runsof 42 balls) were to good today that at one stage Mumbai Indians were looking for a total of 200 runs on board; but they managed only 167 runs with loss of 7 wickets that’s why we call cricket is a game of uncertainty. It happened because of Jofra Archer’s one over spell in 19th over as he took 3 major wickets in that over and bagged the Man of the match award for his economical spell and wickets in hes ipl debut match.
The target of 168 runs looked tricky as RR lost their opener Ajinkya Rahane(14) and Rahul Tripathi(9). Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes were going steady in the chase as both batsman made 52 and 40 runs respectively before getting out and in no time RR were 6 wickets down with 125 runs on the board. New batsman Krishnappa Gowtham played a last moment cameo inning of 33 runs in 11 balls to snatch the win from Mumbai Indians.
